Nishur does not meet the criteria for any standard classification.
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Nambe Subsector of Fallow Sector.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It forms a part of the Glitterdrift Reach.
System Data[edit]
The primary is an unnamed ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.064 Sols, a mass of 0.5376 Sols, and a diameter of 778,000 km. (I) Nishur orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (IV) a large gas giant, (V-I) a ringed large gas giant, (V-II) a small gas giant, (VI) a small ice giant, and (VII) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(I) Nishur[edit]
(I) Nishur is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 0.21 AU (31.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 47 days 23 hours: it is tidally locked to the primary. The axial tilt is 2 degrees. Nishur has a diameter of 7,488 km, a density of 5.69 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.61 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of the primary cause frequent geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 1.21 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 39% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 16°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe. The climate is static.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 176 million km², Land surface area: 107 million km², Water surface area: 69 million km².
- The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the Twilight region.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Nishur, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Nishur system has been studied by the Local Astrographical Survey Project, a part of the Astronomy Department of the University of Selasia.
