Naruppesh is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population in the hundreds of thousands of sophonts. The world is tropical with a hot, though still habitable, climate at the upper limits of human comfort. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Naruppesh, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a baron. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. During the Long Night this world was named Khukhiid.

History and background

Naruppesh is the rice bowl of Dagudashaag, with over 15,000 different strains of rice and grain grown here. The terraced planet at full production can feed over half the population of the sector. Perpetually hot and misty with extreme humidity and extensive mountainous terrain, Naruppesh has no open seas. Instead its 80% surface water is trapped in valleys and paddies. The only real industry is the ever increasing need for more water pipes, canals, and pumping apparatus to prevent the stagnation of the agro-economy.

Prior to the colonization efforts, the surface water was around 40%. Every known underground reservoir was tapped and is now empty. Naruppesh also relies upon cometary mining to supply additional water and nutrients.
