A Mining World is the site of extensive mineral resource exploitation. It is not a mainworld and is located in a star system with an Industrial World.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

An Mining World is a world involved in the production of goods but not usually from start to finish. Sometimes this involves resource extraction and at other times, the resources are exported, often to an Industrial World. Resource processing, at some level or in some form, is part of the process.

Planetary Characteristics[edit]

The voracious resource appetites of long-established Industrial Worlds make mining worlds a necessary reality.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Many such worlds are aggressively strip mined heedless of environmental concerns. Protest organizations often choose mining worlds or their nearby industrial mother worlds as focuses of their movements.

Very dynamic and quickly growing mining worlds have been known to grow into Industrial Worlds and become re-designated as a Main Worlds.
