Lafkin is a Florian League world. The system was previously owned by the Glorious Empire, until recently conquered by the League in the so-called Eahaw Campaign.

• The Floriani moved in to secure Lafkin as a supply base, then kept it when hostilities ceased.

World Starport

Lafkin has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

The diminutive Barnai are the leaders and intellectuals; the hulking Feskals the labour. Feskals are obedient to Barnai.

Barnai live a life of leisure for their first 16 years. Schooling consists of directed personal study, with each student pursuing individual interests. Once a Barnai reaches maturity at the age of 20, they are expected to perform some sort of public service for a few years.
