History

A once vibrant agricultural world destroyed in a nuclear conflict, Kteatau is now under an interdiction administered by the Htaieie' clan (a vassal of the Stahfiei, itself a vassal of Hrawoao).

Kteatau is the former homeworld of the Kareaha, once a powerful clan considered to be in line for a seat on the Tlaukhu. In -242 the Kareahako died, and all five of his sons declared for leadership of the clan. The resulting conflict became infamous for its sheer destructiveness, until the brothers resorted to the clan's nuclear arsenal. In the end all five brothers were killed and their clan destroyed. Kteatau was left irradiated and depopulated.

Today, the world's islands are littered with burnt-out military vehicles and bombed-out buildings. Looters frequent these ruins, chasing rumours of lost Kareaha treasures -- such as the grav palace of Ilaohaukhta, said to rest more-or-less intact on the seabed.

World Starport (St)

Kteatau has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)

Kteatau has a population of 80 sophonts (tens).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
