Mainworld Topography and Geography

Most of the world is ocean. Noatun, the single major continent, is centered in the upper northern latitudes and has a primarily wet tropical climate.

History & Background (Dossier)

Freya was colonised by Humans in -1570. Unusually for worlds in the Beyond, it was settled by loyalists of the Sindalian Empire, not members of the Sindalian Diaspora. The original settlement was a forward base for an invasion of Corella that never took place. Most of the strike force was withdrawn to deal with problems closer to home, but a crew of three hundred remained. Nearly all the current six million citizens of Freya can trace at least one ancestor back to those three hundred.

World Starport

Freya has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Freya has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).

Linguistic Topography

The common language is "Corellan Galanglic", a distinct dialect of Anglic.

Urbanization

Many coastal towns on the Noatun continent and the Gersemi island chain are focused on tourism; in resort areas offworld visitors from the wider Corellan League often outnumber natives.

World Government (G)

Freya is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

As a full member of the Corellan League, Freya sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella.
