The EPDF-10 Carmine class Tracked APC is a later industrial era TL-6 Armored Fighting Vehicle.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
EPDF-10 Carmine class Tracked APC, TL-6: The type B model vehicle is amphibious and very lightly armored with an improved internal combustion power plant and transmission are linked to a tracked suspension. They have moderate speed for this technology level, and feature low ground pressure, so they never get stuck off road in mud, soft earth or sand. They can use their tracks to propel them through the water. They carry one infantry squad divided into a two-man vehicle crew and a ten-man infantry squad. They are often deployed with tankers to extend their limited operational endurance. They are sealed with over pressure to combat NBC/CBR threats. They are armed with an unstabilized HMG cupola, positioned forward and to the right over the commander's position, the driver sits to his left. They carry a battery of four large, wire guided anti-tank missiles on the rear of the chassis deck. A single mechanic with access to the right tools and a workshop can service, repair and maintain two of these vehicles.
The vehicle has a crew of two, the driver/mechanic and the gunner/commander and carry 10 mechanized infantry dismounts.

Ariete TAC Missile System[edit]
There are four 100kg capacity launch rails mounted on the back of the chassis deck. These missiles use a very heavy 24kg 30cm HEAP 53 warhead which can breach starship hull metal. The vehicle carries a wire guidance command package. It takes both crew members to manually reload these missiles if additional rounds are available. These weapons are operator guided and are not subject to ECM jamming. Four missiles are included in the vehicle purchase price.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Designed and manufactured at TL–6, these tracked vehicles are the basis for a whole family of vehicles and are license built for the Zouave Light Infantry Regiment at Erenim/Natar (Far Home 0412) B786775-6, along the Distant Fringe. The type A model had a much smaller suspension with crippling ground pressure. It had an engine and transmission that was twice the size of the type B and had an impressive road speed of 93kph. The type A was even less expensive, not everyone is convinced that the type B is an upgrade. These serve in the Zouave regimental infantry companies.
