Description (Specifications)[edit]

In contrast to a traditional Nuclear Weapon, a dirty bomb does not create a nuclear explosion when detonated, but instead disperses radioactive material through detonating traditional explosives. This vaporizes or aerosolizes the material and disperses it over a wide area, creating a radiological hazard. This contanimation works as an area denial tool, especially for civilian populations who may not have access to CBRN equipment to protect themeselves, causing considerable burden on medical infrastructure from those initially exposed and preventing most normal economic activity in the area effected.
