The colony on Ankara was apparently established during the Interstellar Wars, although no record of it exists, and it was not shown on the surveys of the Rule of Man. The people of Ankara may be considered a variant Human species, although they were not a creation of the Ancients but rather an experiment in genetic adaptation that has bred true. The inhabitants of Ankara were genetically modified specifically to be able to breath the dense, tainted atmosphere of Ankara.

Although the planet is divided into multiple governments, they all share the same cultural distrust of outsiders, so caution is advised in any contacts.
