Anti Pirate Campaign by the Governments of the Belt and Touchdown against the Taktsang Pirates from 294 to 299.

Initial Raids[edit]
286 to 294: Lano Jukes leads a small faction in minor raids with little backing. From 292, the Pirates become a major faction based on significant support in Anti-Government circles.
Build up[edit]
294: Both the Pirate and Government forces rapidly built up forces; The Pirates covertly, the Government overtly. The total number of warships in the Belter Navy almost doubled over this year.
The Campaign[edit]
294 to 298: The Campaign takes on the form of an Insurgency with the Government initially finding it quite hard to counter the Pirate threat. However, as time progressed, the convoys of the Belter Government started to enable trade to operate more effectively, and the asteroids that had felt neglected by the Government came back on board. This loss of bases eventually caused the leadership to gamble all on a single battle.
Battle of Sparks[edit]
The Battle of Sparks was the last throw-of-the-dice by the Taktsang Pirates in 298.
The battle occurred as a desperate attempt to capture and hold hostage the Government of the Belt. The battle failed to prevent any landing, but the invaders were held-off without doing catastrophic damage to Sparks - although parts of the North Pole Spaceport were destroyed.
One side-effect of the Battle of Sparks was that the leadership of the Industrial Liberals were firmly blamed for the battle having taken place at all, and (despite ultimately winning), they were forced to eject that leadership allowing Tove Modi into power.
