The Battle of Sparks saw the leadership of The Belt's Industrial Liberals blamed for allowing the Taktsang Pirates to land at the capital. Tove Modi was able to manage a spectacular media campaign that placed the blame on individuals and allowed the party as a whole to cling onto power. This propelled Tove into the leadership of the party and the enmity of the party's old-guard.
