Description[edit]
This mobile crane is designed to lift and stack standard 10 dTon cargo containers (or smaller 5 or 1 dTon containers), up to 8 containers high, at spaceports or other inter-modal transportation centres. It is relatively agile to allow containers to be picked up and placed with great accuracy amongst the rows of waiting items.
The vehicle is fully sealed for operation in a Vacuum, and has one airlock. The Driver's seat has good all-round visibility, but the light conditions on most spaceports make seeing into shadows very difficult - and thus the cab comes with lights and other sensors to allow the driver to move safely.
The cab itself has a great environment for the driver - who may be in it for some hours - with a galley and fresher and a good quality sound system. Additionally, to enable the management to direct the vehicle as required, the vehicle comes with Radio communications and on-board Computer systems.
The vehicle is built, conscious of the fact that container stacks can topple, with considerable front and top armour to protect the driver being crushed in the event of such an accident.

Becker GmbH started manufacture of these vehicles from 28 when those that had arrived with the colonists started to fail.
