These two, interlocking families had formed a commercial network throughout the Million Subsector and achieved the honour of the Lords of Hammand, only to have the entire fabric of their power stripped away by the Abandonment.

Most of the family's senior members fled into the Regency but a few remained to oversee the assets that could not be disposed of (Particularly in the United Followers of Augurgh, on Gabrael or because they were persona-non-grata with the Regency at the time.)
