Beleperan is a rich and agricultural production world with a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system supports a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Beleperan, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Kaiin.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Beleperan is part of the Parendis Meridian Cluster.

System Data[edit]

Point of Interest: Domination Colony Beleparen is best known for Bhecarus. This gas giant on the edge of the system was a Domination colony.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Beleperan, like many planets in Remnants is a mining colony. Initially set up by IPP, the original colony was established to drill for oil. Soon after the founding, the colony discovered Ambalite, a unique crystal produced from the fossilized sap of one of the native plants. IPP did not have the resources to mine the crystals and subsequently sold large tracts of land to various mining guilds, usually with first right of refusal to purchase the raw Ambalite. Ambalite, due to its unique transparent structure is ideal for use in holographic projector lenses.

History and background[edit]

In 876 the local Domination decided to help themselves to a shipment of IPP's Ambalite, and destroying the transport in the process. The subsector navy, led by Admiral Karl Ghenas III, Earl of Shankida, elected to take the matter into his own hands. He ordered the entire arsenal of nuclear weapons fired at the colony deep in the gas giant atmosphere. The entire fleet was destroyed a few minutes later by the resulting shock wave.

The Domination have refused to recolonize the system, and have avoided any further conflict with the Imperium. They have assumed this act of devastation was the Imperium's planned response to any acts of aggression by the Domination.
