Aoukeiwar is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and is also a low-population vacuum environment with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Aslan sophonts located in the Tyehlai Subsector of Riftspan Reaches Sector.

Description

Aoukeiwar is a system thoroughly isolated by the Great Rift.

• Its nearest interstellar neighbor is Iktaitlow (Riftspan Reaches 1801 E5666M7-A), seven parsecs away.
• Deep space fuel caches or other roundabout means are necessary to make the crossing.

Aoukeiwar has a solitary primary star.

	Remarks

History & Background (Dossier)

The system is so remote that it remains unclaimed by any Aslan clan. Reiosahkirl, a sector-wide mining corporation, secured ownership of the system in 3297 Aslan (807 Imperial). The company's engineers hollowed out a small asteroid, which has since served as a base for the belt's few prospectors.

Reiosahkirl maintains a permanent staff insystem, but the majority of belters are transients, periodically shipped in by the company. The visitors are given free transportation to and from Aoukeiwar, but Reiosahkirl receives a substantial portion of their profits.

World Starport (Sp)

Aoukeiwar has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
