Global Securities Division
Tarkan (world) has hired this organization to see to system wide security concerns.
They in turn have arranged for the procurement and construction of a flotilla of twelve Echo class Patrol Torpedo Boats.
They have a unit of eight TL–9 GSD Achilles class Combat Walkers fitted with six legs, thermal and light weapons. These walkers are repurposed and heavily modified Major Grund class automated agricultural harvesters. They are now used mostly as scouts and occasionally for dedicated close infantry support. There is a one thousand strong infantry battalion. The unit is not fully mechanized. The four internal security companies are mostly foot mobile patrols in platoon strength. Support assets are pushed out to meet up with units as needed. There is a two-hundred strong command and support unit called the lord's retinue for reasons lost in antiquity. The lord's retinue has 51 vehicles with a total lift capacity for crew and passengers of 387 troopers. The lord's retinue has all the medical personnel which include 34 combat medics with 10kg medical first aid kits, nine ambulances with 9 drivers and 14 nurses. These GSD Bast class Ambulance Tracks carry and deploy company casualty clearing stations. There are also 7 trauma surgeons and two GSD Surgeon class Battalion Aid Tracks each have a dismountable battalion aid station. They have 40 mechanics and two GSD Fimir class Workshop Crawlers, these mobile workshops are used for unit maintenance of vehicles, weapons and electronics. There are also 20 cooks and ten GSD Comfort class Mess Tractors fitted with field kitchens. The other 76 retinue members handle all other staff, logistics support, resupply and administrative concerns. There are eight GSD Porter class Supply Tracks, one allocated for each line company. They also have twenty GSD Hoplite class APCs which are capable of moving the entire lord's retinue by themselves or two line companies as needed in a single lift. That number also includes the unit's commanding officer, a Colonel Jessup and their executive officer, a Lieutenant Colonel Leroy Jenkins, senior command's staff officers who are majors and captains, and senior NCOs. Line companies have no organic support elements. Rumors persist that unlicensed, imported clones have been used to replace combat losses but no legal issues have been raised as yet.
There are eight combat companies. Each company is one hundred strong and divided into four platoons of twenty five each. Company commanders and SNCOs double hat as a platoon leaders. Four infantry companies are dedicated protected forces units equipped with vacuum suits, locally manufactured laser carbines, and compact man portable TAC missile launchers. They must be qualified in vacuum operations and zero G combat skills and receive a pay differential for those skills. They are also often technically trained in mechanical and electronic maintenance and repair. Protected forces companies rotate duty as ship's troops every month. These elite mercenaries provide the eight man strong boarding parties on the company's Echo class Patrol Torpedo Boats. The other four companies are used as an internal security garrison. They operate within the habitats, domes and tunnels of the colony, starport, and mines. They wear flak body armor, and carry locally made assault rifles fitted with an integral under slung 4cm RAM grenade launcher. They wear closed faced Kevlar helmets with a 0.1kg radio and LI/IR faceplates. They have access to the same 3kg TAC missiles which are 4.5kg with their disposable package launchers. The unit's NCOs favor a popular bull-pup lay out 9mm HEI caseless SMG which features a cylindrical 30 round ammo drum. Every vehicle in the unit has one or more TAC missiles for anti-tank duty, most are target designated. The unit lacks effective artillery support. Mass driven mortars capable of operating in vacuum have been considered.
The current unit commander, Colonel Nathaniel Jessup is recognizable by his white buzzcut hair, cigarette, a purple hooded cloak (IR camouflage), a nomad broadsword, bow string tied white surgical scrubs, a pair of worn sandals and a white wife beater tee shirt. Eccentric, but widely feared as a stone cold killer and brilliant, if troubled tactical mind. He personally leads the Grey Companies who recruit extensively off world. They see themselves as a loyal chapter of knights pledged to the service of the eternals. He has partnered with a pair of identical twin sisters. These albino warrior nuns serve jointly as mothers superior for a convent high in an isolated pass of the desolate Frostback mountain range. These witches are reputed to possess vast psionic powers of a special sorcerous variety. Taser equipped carbon fiber battle staves and shuriken dipped in potent neurotoxins are common among the nuns. They maybe responsible for the unit's supplies of Berserkeride combat drugs. Anagathic compounds provided to the eternals might be the reason certain irregularities with this unit have been overlooked.
