The Issugur are a very primitive, isolated race, numbering only in the hundreds of thousands. They live on a vast plateau region of their home planet, which has been declared off-limits to everyone by the planetary ruling council. Groups rarely number over a few hundred, lead by a single chieftain.

They have developed an agricultural community which is only now beginning to use available surface metals. Their crops are limited by the acidic content of the local rains. Hardy local plants survive quite well but are not very nutritious, so limit the overall population.

The Issugur are very suspicious of outsiders, and are likely to flee if approached.

Their religion centers around sun worship and a reverence for the local cloud seas.
