Description / Specifications

A large cargo transport vehicle designed for commercial organisations.

Hull / Suspension

A generally box-shaped steel/plastic hull. Length: 6.8m, Width: 2.4m, Height: 3.4m. Unloaded Weight: 5300 kg.

  • External Volume: approximately 55m³ (4 dTons).
Note that the external volume measures the vehicles maximum dimensions and includes road clearance. The contained volume of the contoured hull is substantially lower.

The vehicle is fitted with wheeled suspension.

  • The vehicle performs well on metalled surfaces but has very limited off-road capability.

Power / Transmission

A medium power plant using hydrocarbon fuel. The fuel is contained within a protected tank.

Performance

  • Cruise Speed 70 kph, Top Speed 100. Off-road speed less than 20 kph.
  • Range 2000 km at cruise, 1600 km at top speed.

Passengers / Cargo

An enclosed cabin containing two front seats – an additional passenger can be accommodated on the front seat though such arrangements are cramped. The seating is fitted with safety straps. The driver's position is fitted with basic mechanical controls and a console that provides basic information such as velocity.

Internal cargo storage: 3m³ (given over to a crew bunk). Maximum load: restricted by volume only.

Equipment

Headlights and running lights. Basic environmental controls (the hull is weatherproof but is not sealed). Small (typically 200 km range) radio communicator.

History / Background

A relatively cheap, extremely popular model of light commercial vehicle available in a variety of body styles and colors.
