Pel Avena Directorate

A semi-autonomous region within the area controlled by the Rimward Opportunities development organisation. It was centered on the Pel Avena cluster and had its capital at Pel Avena (1528 Far Home). Rimward Opportunities neglected the region and the Directorate began establishing its own links, establishing regular trade with New Frontiers to trailing, even going as far as using vessels chartered from New Frontiers to transport their produce.

Security forces employed by Rimward Opportunities were dispatched to the Directorate systems to bring them back in line but were met with strong system defence forces and large numbers of locally raised militia. In the face of such overwhelming resistance they chose to withdraw. Rimward Opportunities decided instead to negotiate with the Directorate and the Pel Avena cluster became an autonomous region, though still nominally under Rimward Opportunities control, and acted as a gateway between Rimward Opportunities and New Frontiers.

The Pel Avena Directorate eventually became the Rimward Federation.
