Asimidiske is a non-agricultural, pre-industrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • Its economy and population are slowly growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
  • This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
  • This world has a research station engaged in the scientific pursuit of knowledge.
  • It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
  • It is a member of the Amec Trade Protectorate, a cultural region and full member state of the Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector in the Domain of Vland.

Astrography and planetology

Asimidiske is a small moon, one of several that orbits the gas giant Cuauhtemoc. Initially set up early in the Second Imperium as a fuel refinery station.

Asimidiske has two stars in the star system.

Native Sophont: Calipha

In 304 the semi-intelligent Calipha were discovered three kilometers down in Cuauhtemoc atmosphere. Due to extreme difficulties in establishing contact within a gas giant atmosphere several research bases were set up in mined out craters on the moons surface. Several large research stations dedicated to studying the Calipha, funded by non-Protectorate academic foundations.

History and background

Background event: Asimidiske Gold Rush

Today the planet has a population in excess of 90 million, mostly the descendants of miners. Both House of Yeipanitl and House of Xiumac maintain large refinery platforms on planet as well as extensive mining facilities. Together they almost rival House of Aymara which manages the largest Chalchihuitl mining facilities in the Protectorate.

Asimidiske is home to Tlatocan University. It was during the excavations to build research centers that the construction teams discovered Asimidiske had massive deposits of Chalchihuitl. The discovery prompted a massive influx of miners.
