Meta-History & Background
The Classic Traveller Paranoia Press Beyond book has been declared non-canon (but keep reading).
- The data for the 1991 Online Updates for this non-canon version of the sector is located here: The Beyond Sector/Paranoia Press.
- The data for Jeff Zeitlin's non-canon version of this sector is located here: The Beyond Sector/Jeff Zeitlin.
- The data for the 2017 T5 Atlas of the Imperium: Second Survey version of the sector is located here: The Beyond Sector/T5SS-Atlas.
- (Note that the T5SS-Atlas pages also include information from the original 1981 publication as rumors and misinformation detailed on linked subpages).
Background:
- In 1981, the original Classic Traveller Paranoia Press Beyond was published.
- In 1991, Alien - Solomani & Aslan was published with an alternative stellar dot-map for The Beyond.
- In 1997, the Classic Traveller Paranoia Press Beyond underwent 1991 online updates by Chuck Kallenbach.
- During this period, Jeff Zeitlin also produced a fan-version of The Beyond that was used as a source by many on Traveller Map and hosted on this site.
- In 2016, the Paranoia Press Beyond material underwent T5 Second Survey review and updates to T5 standards.
Current Publications:
- In 2017, the updated T5 Second Survey reviewed version of the Paranoia Press Beyond Sector material was published in the T5 Atlas of the Imperium: Second Survey, by Far Future Enterprises.
- In 2022, The Beyond Sector was extensively reviewed and overhauled by Geir Lanesskog, drawing data and inspiration from all of the above sources and published as a definitive harmonized version in the The Spinward Extents for Mongoose Traveller 2nd Ed, by Mongoose Publishing.
== Notes (2024) ==
This version of The Beyond is specifically the Paranoia Press updated version released in 1991 by Chuck Kallenbach II. Its stellar cartography is roughly compatible with the Sunbane data dot map as used in the version of The Beyond by Jeff Zeitlin (The Beyond Sector/Jeff Zeitlin).
