Kimalad is a garden world with an environment conducive to most sophonts. The system has a population over one billion. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Kimalad, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet, and the fiefdoms of a count and the Subsector duke. All four are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
Astrography and planetology
The jungle floor is home to the Ishupkura, a large grazing beast prized for its meat. Although Ishupkura can be raised on other worlds, those raised in the natural wilderness of Kimalad have a superior taste and texture.
History and background
Kimalad was a jungle planet until its colonization in -3,205 by the Vilani. It was heavily mined using open cast tech methods. Vast stretches of the planet were ripped open to allow the money-hungry humans to rape its mineral wealth. Then the Long Night caused man to leave Kimalad alone. Slowly the planet recovered and the jungles covered the planet once more though the deep scars of man’s earlier occupation were still unable to support life.
Then in -231 Humaniti returned, not to plunder but to live - in harmony. Settlements were built on the immense flat-topped mesas. Multi-tiered buildings of infinite hue covered the mounds as the population increased but the inhabitants refused to allow expansion to extend down to the jungle floor. Instead they built upwards forming cities of hundreds of levels, lying precariously upon each other. Monorails link the cities together.

The emperor, Jyond Quasot, is a master of manipulation. He has turned his subjects into rabid psionphobes with his stories of Guukian spies within his empire. He has used this fear of psionics in order to consolidate his power and eliminate his enemies.
