A Cargo Hold is a location on a vessel used to transport equipment and goods.
- This component is considered to be Ship Equipment.
Description (Specifications)
The cargo hold can usually be sealed. The hold is generally accessed by large doors and hatches. It may have a loading ramp or a cargo elevator and generally has independent life support and environmental systems.
- Sections of the hold may be isolated if desired and can be provided with specialized environmental conditions, typically refrigeration.

Some cargo holds are specifically designed to be environmental tanks.
