The Imperial Monarchist Movement is a political organization in the Third Imperium, dating as far back as the Civil War era, composed of supporters of the hereditary interstellar monarchy on the Iridium Throne.
Description (Specifications)
Members of the Monarchist Bloc are unified in their opposition to turning the Imperium into a type of Imperial Republic in which the traditional Hereditary Monarchy would notionally be replaced by either an Elected Monarch or an Elected Oligarchy acting as a type of Executive Council as Imperial Head of State. Not only does the Monarchist Movement want rule by a hereditary monarch, but it also wants the ruling Emperor or Empress to be entitled to rule for life.
The Imperial Monarchist Bloc generally falls to a greater or lesser degree within the Conservative wing of the spectrum of Imperial politics and ideology.

After the failure of clear succession of the Lentuli and Zhunastu lines in the antebellum period and the invention of the extraordinary expedient of the "Right of Assassination" to deal with the problem of Cleon III, the precedent of the choice or confirmation of Non-dynastic Emperors by Moot ratification became a standard practice leading up to the period of the Imperial Civil War.
During the reign of Emperor Strephon, the Imperial Monarchist Movement staunchly supports the Alkhalikoi family dynasty.
Parliamentary Monarchists
Some members of the Monarchist Movement are Parliamentary Monarchists.
