The star Alzir (otherwise known as Xi Geminorum) is a white spectral type F5 star that has begun to move off the main sequence into the subgiant phase of stellar evolution.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Alzir is considered to be a solitary star. However, there is some evidence that it might be a binary system consisting of two equal-mass component stars.

  • Alzir is a rapidly rotating star that is also observed to be an X-Ray emission star with an estimated X-ray luminosity of 1.06 × 1029 erg/sec.

The Alzir star system lies approximately 18.0pc from Terra, and is located in a Rimward/Rimspinward direction from Terra at bearing 200.7o Galactic Longitude and +04.5o North Galactic Latitude.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Alzir is the primary star of the world Alzirr/Firdausi (Aldebaran 2504).
