Sima has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. There is a habitat or settlement for criminals or exiles from other worlds here. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Laraa Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Sima, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Irash In.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Sima is located on the Vilani Main.

The atmosphere on Sima is breathable above 10,000 meters. This has restricted the population to high mountain chains where the only source of water is the snow which falls about 3 months each year.

Sima has two stars in the star system.

History and background[edit]

Site of one of the many exile camps in this subsector, the population is made up of the descendants of those who were shipped here and survived the harsh conditions.

Sima is an ancient world, settled in the First Millennium of Star Flight by the Vilani pioneers as they reached out along the contorted single jump links of the Vilani Main. Sima, twenty-six jumps out, was an attractive world with a pleasant environment and biomes quickly overwhelmed by imported Vilani crops and livestock. The fact that there were no indigenes simplified the process, and the colonists soon settled into a comfortable existence. Later development of faster jump drives turned Sima into a backwater, self-sufficient and bypassed by mainstream society. [2]
