Guan has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Guan, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Khergas.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Guan is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Guan is primarily a support base and R&R facility for the huge company refining rigs which float in the upper atmosphere of the tiny gas giant Loirhed, of which Guan is a satellite.
History and background[edit]
Guan is owned by Tarameck, a major hydrocarbon refining and processing corporation. Rig life is tough and Guan port is accordingly rough. Riggers tend to live on their nerves while working above the broiling clouds of Loirhed and then let off steam at Guan watching or taking part in games involving contests of strength, endurance, and martial arts. Other leisure facilities include casinos (the Riggers are well paid), brothels, and bars. A small section of the port is off limits to the Riggers to keep the more sensitive visitors away from their extremes.
