History & Background (Dossier)
Caithness is largely a "company planet" run by the Caithness Combine, a joint venture of several major Caledonian trading companies. The planet is governed by a bureaucracy administered under Caledonian law. While the planet itself has no elections for government, the population does vote for members to the Caledonian parliament.
- The system was largely a vassal of various Reaver clans, mostly operating as proxies of the Khan World League, until liberated by the Caleonian Navy after the Reaver War in 373.
- Today, Caithness is home to a scout and major navy base, it's a vital hub for trade to spinward. Given the proximity of the Reaver-dominated Khan World League, it's also an assembly point for convoys shipping out to spinward.
