The name Iper’mar is originally derived from the term "Imperial Matrices," a term for the once-dominant merchant families of Lambert system. Over time, the meaning has shifted to something like "refugees" or "exiles." They are also known as "tech tyrants" in neighboring Ley Sector, due to their domineering attitude towards low-tech cultures. This term is gaining currency in the Quarter as well.
