Description
Iliika was initially a S'mrii colony world and still retains a significant S'mrii population. During the Pacification Campaigns it was captured and used as a military base. Since then the Vilani megacorporation Naasirka, has maintained a tight stranglehold on the planetary government and has continued to exploit the planet's extensive natural resources to this day.
In 866 the S'mrii of Iliika managed, through a loophole in the local government constitution, to hold a free referendum in which over 89% of the population voted to throw Naasirka off-planet. Since then the local people have been attempting, through legal means, to win back their freedom. A move that has been vigorously opposed through the courts by the Naasirka legal department
History & Background
