A secretive subdivision of the Sharurshid megacorporation, part of its security service.
Privvy to the secret that it was officials of their bureau that misrepresented an ancient contact in Ley Sector and inadvertently triggered a genocidal war (against the ancestors of the Wandering People), Sharurshid created the Zulii Aana Korameshh, or "Keepers of Dark (or deep, or difficult, depending on the inflection) Secrets."
The existence of the ZAK is unknown to more than 99% of the company's employees and senior officials. Their role is to make sure that the skeletons stay in the closet, so to speak.
