A sophont species and Minor Race, native to Raskennen in Storr Sector.
Found throughout the sector, they are a significant force in local politics. Zaru live happily among other species, and most worlds with substantial Zaru populations are mixed-race.
Known Populations[edit]
As the name indicates, this is the origin point of the Zaru species.
- 0702 Garpassi: 180,000 Zaru, representing 90% of the population.
- 0704 Raskennen: 10 billion Zaru; the Zaru homeworld.
- 0803 Bandor: A direct colony of Raskennen, this world supports 500,000 Zaru.
- 0810 Karbassi: Zaru make up 30% of the population. A highly important planet, its industry attracted Zaru immigrants.
- 0903 Yarballa: 8,000 Zaru, representing 40% of the population.
- 0905 Aiken: 120,000,000 Zaru, representing 60% of the population.
- 0908 Burnaddett: 400,000 Zaru, representing 50% of the population.
- 3101 Skyfair: Zaru make up 40% of the population. Hivers make up 30%.
A client state of the Hive Federation, this world is the primary point of contact between Hivers and Zaru, as the Hivers attempt to determine the future role of Zaru as prospective members of their Young Worlds expansion.
- 0711 Gaterra: Another high-technology world of great importance and active industry. 400,000,000 Zaru, representing 20% of the population.
- 1018 Bendahl: 60,000,000 Zaru, representing 20% of the population.
- 1713 Gulbannka: Zaru make up 30% of the population.
- 1714 Distal: Zaru make up 30% of the population.
- 2813 Lannenaskan: Zaru make up 70% of the population. This non-industrial, unimportant world would seem an odd place to find established Zaru settlements, but they are here.
- 0124 Horizon: 9,000,000 Zaru, making up 30% of the population.
- 0724 Stringent: Zaru make up 20% of the population.
The subsector's prominent worlds attracted Zaru business and settlement.
- 1127 Arranas: Zaru make up 40% of the population.
- 1224 Argano: Zaru make up 10% of the population.
- 1321 Yisttans: Zaru make up 10% of the population.
- 1423 Malzaena: Of its billion citizens, around 20% are Zaru
- 1921 Guanrennen: Around 1,200 Zaru, making up 60% of the small community.
- 0232 Hexaluna: 600,000 Zaru, representing around 10% of the population.
- 1731 Ralpinnen: A showcase of high-technology; 2,800 Zaru, making up around 40% of the population.
