The Vari Gap is an area of lower stellar density, one of the many rifts and voids making up part of the greater Idella Rift region.

• The region measures around 5 parsecs spinward-trailing, around 3 parsecs coreward-rimward, and is generally considered to be lozenge-shaped.
• It is named for Cho Vari Subsector, which it primarily lies within.
• It forms a natural obstacle to coreward expansion.

The Vari Gap hampers trade and commerce within the subsector, which largely depends on Jump-2 vessels.

• The Gap cannot be routinely crossed by most merchant vessels.
