Ovka, those Aldebaran subsector pages you're editing are from an older (apocryphal) version of the sector. If you look at TravellerMap, several of those subsectors now have new names. 77topaz (talk) 15:05, 6 February 2016 (EST)

I noticed that. Initially, I started using the TravellerMap names. Then, one of the names I put in created a link to one of the Varun subsectors. If that is acceptable for the time being, then I will change them back.

To close the loop on this for anyone reading it at a later date, 77topaz told me to use the format "X (YY Z) Subsector" where X is the subsector name, YY is the two letter abbreviation for the sector, and Z is the position of the subsector within the sector.Ovka (talk) 16:58, 19 February 2016 (EST)

The list of two letter abbreviations is here: Sector Map.

Note that there are some duplicate sector abbreviations. This won't be a problem unless a two subsectors with the same name are in the same position in multiple sectors with the same two-letter abbreviation. So far I haven't seen this occur. There could also be a problem if multiple worlds with the same name and hex location are in two different sectors with the same two-letter abbreviation (because the format for duplicate worlds is X (YY nnnn) (world) where X is the world name, YY is the two-letter sector abbreviation, and nnnn is the four-digit hex location within the sector).

Galis Subsector[edit]

Yep, Randy Dorman did a data drop for Canopus Sector as well. 77topaz (talk) 16:26, 7 February 2016 (EST)

I saw Jim Kundert's changes on GitHub, but Not Randy's. Ovka (talk) 16:35, 7 February 2016 (EST)

To close the loop on this one, Randy's data drop appeared later that day.

Please don't edit the data or economic pages[edit]

The data and economic sub-pages for each sector are automatically generated by the Trade Map generation process and will be overwritten the next time the process is run. Please don't edit these pages. The Traveller Map data is used to generate these pages so make sure the data from there has the changes you need. user:tjoneslo 70.192.138.78 08:55, 20 February 2016 (EST)

To close the loop on this one, I was aware that there were some auto-generated pages that would get overwritten. I wasn't quite sure which ones. In an effort to make sure that the broken links and redirects were pointing to the correct places, I was changing all of the pages. I will stop editing the data and economic subpages for the sectors, though the OCD in me would prefer to edit them even though they would be overwritten later.
