Tristira is a preindustrial water world.

  • Its surface is 90% or more covered in an ocean of water.
  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
  • As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a client state of the Third Imperium in the Ashishinipar Subsector of Corridor Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Located too far from any other world to be accessible, Tristira was once considered as a possible link in a high-jump route across the Great Rift, but this proved to be a false hope.

Tristira is officially listed as an Imperial Client State, and so the Imperial Navy has jurisdiction to patrol the system whenever necessary without the bureaucratic process associated with trans-border operations. Precisely why the navy felt the need to operate freely in this remote system has never been revealed, but after a few years interest waned and visits became very rare. There is some resentment among the people of Tristira, who were never consulted on their status and as such have essentially been annexed by the Imperium against their wishes, but there are no immediate effects to their society.

World Starport[edit]

Tristira has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology[edit]

Tristira's science and technology have developed largely in isolation. Its spacefarers do not benefit from artificial gravity and make do with chemical rockets and low-powered ion drives. Mining installations operate in the planetoid belt, launching chunks of ore on a slow intercept course to the mainworld. The locals have even managed to hollow out a couple of small planetoids and fit them with basic drives, repositioning them as orbital forts over their homeworld.
