Tilmes has an unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 1 million and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Tilmes, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Khar. This world was also known to some as Iilmea.

History and background[edit]

Originally established as a mining community, the Tilmen are known primarily for their xenophobic traditions. All visitors to the planet must keep their mouth covered when in the presence of Tilmen and must not speak. The Tilmen themselves are prohibited from speaking to off-worlders and all contact must take place only in writing. Those who fail to follow these laws will find themselves facing an obligatory month of ritual cleansing
