Thoengling is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Thoengling Empire in the Thoengling Subsector of Gvurrdon Sector, in the Vargr Extents.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Thoengling has vast non-aqua oceans covering most of the surface. The toxic nature of the oceans has saturated the land and air, preventing life from developing here.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world is the capital of the Thoengling Empire.
The Thoengling capital was relocated here for several reasons:
- The planet is located in the centre of the Empire, minimising travel times for couriers and supplies and maximising the reach of the government's influence (particularly important among Vargr, who require close contact with authority for their charismatic leadership to be effective)
- Since the world is inhospitable and unpleasant, only the most loyal and dedicated individuals are compelled to live here. The original capital on Ikkhadzkfaghukh had such a large population that dissident movements would be a risk to the leadership.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Thoengling has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
- Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.
