author attribution[edit]

As far as I can tell when citing an article the author of the article is not in the presented citation.

Yes. This is a limitation of the current publication formatting. For magazines (and like publications), the authors of the individual articles are not captured in the underlying Cargo tables for use by the Template:Ludography cite. So it currently defaults to the editor of the issue. There is an experiment to fix this (see Challenge 25) but it doesn't currently work to my satisfaction. I assumed something like that. Poor old {{ludography cite}} is overloaded, books, games, magazines, software, who knows what else. Too soon for me to see a better way. —¿philoserf? (talk) 18:19, 23 June 2020 (EDT)
