Description[edit]

TapDance is the code word used to describe the top secret communication system created by the R&D Branch of the IISS.

The system is a one time pad encryption cipher which allows IISS personnel to send messages with no fear of eavesdropping by outsiders. This is true no matter what the code-breaking system used, provided the key is truly randomly generated, is used only once, is not compromised in transmission or storage, and the plaintext is not revealed at either end.

History[edit]

The system was created in secret out of concern the Imperial Naval communications system named the Red Code had been compromised. The IISS has strong confidence in TapDance and use it routinely for messages involving any level of discretion or secrecy.
