Notes (2019)[edit]

Note that Kegena (or "Kegina") is apparently a name of Cornish origin, which is interesting considering that it's owning world, Rhylanor, also has names associated with Celtic-British forms.

Interesting.

Notes (2016)[edit]

Also, under the T5SS, Kegena is listed as Owned by Rhylanor. This also does not necessarily contradict prior information such as Behind the Claw. It may be that Rhylanor owns the world, but has leased the development rights to Bevey in return for a share of the proceeds.

Notes (2014)[edit]

The current entry matches up with the Behind the Claw description, but the Mongoose Spinward Marches book has a slightly different take: "This low–tech world recently suffered a major social upheaval and governmental collapse. A temporary administration is now in place courtesy of the Colonial Office and backed up by the Army, but the situation remains volatile and caution is advised."

I don't see why both can't be true. In 1105-ish time frame the government collapses due to some upheaval, and the Imperial Colonial Office steps in to control and prevent further disasters. Then sometime in the next decade an enterprising fellow from Bevey makes an offer to the Colonial office, that they'll take over the governmental situation in return for recognition of the world as a "Colony" of Bevey. The locals, realizing they're about to be overrun by outlanders, stops fighting each other and gathers together to throw a rebellion. As a couple of people have pointed out, if you follow the trade speculation rules you can, in very short order, make a great deal of money. I always thought it would be an interesting scenario that one of these PC/Merchant crews members would, some day, cash out and go home. Only to find they have about 5000x the total wealth of the whole world. And the social upheaval that would cause. So now you have a ex-merchant/ex-pc crew (one or two) with Imperial contacts and bucket of money fighting off a business man and colonist takeover of your home world. Maybe some adventures there.
