Talk:Ithklur

I'm not sure why the homeworld location was changed. Tryylin (Extolian 2514) does really exist in the (non-canon) map, is suited to be a homeworld to the Ithklur. I'll go check the sources again to see if they mention the homeworld real name. I would not have added it had it not been mentioned somewhere. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:37, 19 December 2013 (EST)

I am not sure the specific homeworld locations for any of the Hiver subject races were established (beyond the map in Module 7) in CT or MT canon. 2514 does line up nicely with the map in Module 7. I just pulled the location back while I checked sources. (One of the GURPS Alien Races books should have some more info.) I found this intriguing post -- http://traveller.mu.org/archive/HIWG/imperium.worlds.txt -- but I can't find a canonical source for the data. Garnfellow (talk) 08:54, 19 December 2013 (EST)
Leroy Guatney was one of the more prolific HIWG authors and analysts. That post based upon his analysis would be the source data for the location. It's not canon, but unless you can find a specific canon source contradicting it I'd rather not change it. Tjoneslo (talk) 16:34, 19 December 2013 (EST)
I'm inclined to agree. I'll put a note in the relevant world entries that the location and UWPs are non-canon. I did not find a canon source for any of the hiver subject race homeworlds, but it does seem strange that Leroy's post is so careful about canon, and yet so specific about the world data.
Adding to canon in this manner was a big part of HIWG self described mandate. Tjoneslo (talk) 15:07, 20 December 2013 (EST)
