Pakkrat Notes (2016)

According to Mongoose Traveller, Alien Module 2: Vargr, This world should be listed on TravellerMap with Trade Codes Ga (Garden World), Hi (High Population), Ht (High Technology) and Ri (Rich, as opposed to current listing Pre-Rich).

• Ga Hi Ri / Ht Tp
• Malmstein's Gvurrdon Sourcebook does not list it as Ri at all but does list Dzuerongvoe (Gvurrdon 1413) as a Cx (Polity Capital) until moved to Takesoudhagnou (Gvurrdon 1623) during the Equality War (1111-1116) in his Traveller Universe.
  • Ga Hi / Cx Ht Tp
• Mongoose later denotes Oesar Gin (Gvurrdon 1418) as the polity capital. Regardless of Capital, the world in all versions is Rich.
• If incorrect, explain the Pr Trade Code.

The Rich vs Pre-Rich designation has to do with the population of the world. At pop 9, the world can't be "Rich", there are too many people (or Vargr in this case). According to the T5 rules, the world is "Pre-Rich", which is confusing and really should be "Post-Rich".

There are two sources of possible changes: Did the population digit change in any of these datasets? Did the definition of "Rich" change in the rule sets used? I'm pretty sure Rich stopped at pop 8 everywhere. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:15, 24 May 2016 (EDT)

• One of T5SS's achievements has been to formulate rough rules for world codes based upon the UWP's and implement them.
• I hope that all of these rules will be in a future application or a revised T5 edition.
• They add a level of internal consistency and sense that has been previously lacking.

• I can't explain it. It just is. The T5SS committee is a bit secretive at times. I am not formally part of it.
