Sutter's Bridge is a trace of stars running between the Phanic Group and the Tirell Group.
Details / Specifications[edit]
Sutter's Bridge is a narrow trace of stars lying in the coreward part of Median Sector. It marks the division between the Ribbon Rift and the Cauda Rift. The positions and types of its stars have been cataloged as part of the University of Tal Varisa Deep Sky Program.
- Although its stars are too separated to allow travel by conventional vessels, Sutter's Bridge could be traversed by long-range vessels. To date, no starfarers are known to have travelled as far coreward as Median Sector, so the point is entirely academic.
History[edit]
Sutter's Bridge was named for Jasum Gaura Sutter, the Dean of The Faculty of Astronomy and Astrophysics of the University of Tal Varisa at the time that the Deep Sky Program was established.
