Description (Specifications)[edit]
Characteristics[edit]
Pashan UWP Y100000-0
The moon of Arodir houses a secret. Made to look barren and empty, a small underground complex houses a military base and a training facility. Much of this work was done in secret by contractors hired from Arbeit Gesellschaft, with their excellent heavy digging and mining gear. Special talented children are brought here. Devoid of an ecosystem they are cut off from the voices of the living planets in the system. Senior operatives too old or injured from field duty retire here once their monster days are behind them. Some senior operatives burn out and lose their powers as they reach advanced age. They can still train the young to focus and harness their nascent powers. They indoctrinate them to use their powers for the collective good. A few psionically powerful prodigies have left the reservation over the years. The operatives are charged with tracking them down and ensuring their pet monsters do not get lose amid unsuspecting civilian populations. Rumors persist of a few special projects that got away and may even still be at large. A large portion of this training to develop the young psyche to abhor senseless violence and to seek harmony with nature and respect for living things. To restrain the powers to controlled, and focused use to protect others.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This facility also has an advanced largely robotically automated psionic drug pharmacy. A vast array of powerful psionic boosters and suppressors can be synthesized from the awakened flora and fauna on Arodir (world) and Arodyne. Some illicit drugs with horrible psychotropic effects have emerged from failed experimentation. In rare cases a single does of some of these toxins can render a target permanently insane, trapped in vivid hallucinations within the fortress prisons of their own minds. The corporate support for the medical applications has been extremely enthusiastic of late. Theories abound for how these compounds could be used to treat mental disorders throughout the Distant Fringe.
This facility keeps careful tabs on all ship traffic and trade activities within the system. Camouflaged asteroid ships float around this moon and both life bearing planets. They contain an emergency reserve of sleeping agents, kept in low berth until needed. They are only awoken when grave emergency threatens. They are all talented teleporters who can board, disable and capture any warships foolish enough to attempt trespass in this system. They can also dispatch to surface crisis zones to assist embedded ground operatives. All native radio and phone traffic is remotely monitored here with advanced imported computer algorithms to alert the defenders of any impending chaos or unrest.
