Mirnaa has both an unbreathably thin atmosphere and a lack of surface water making habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Mirnaa, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Irgear.

History and background

A series of colonies were established by Khandi (Dagudashaag 2119) on this world between 624 and 783. Since independence in 1000, the relationships between the individual colonies have become very strained. The most divisive issue is control of the main starport. The colonies' inability to agree has prevented work to upgrade the port facilities. This has damaged the economic development of the entire system.
