Grand Admiral Ulrika Jesten stepped into the role of Grand Admiral of the RoR Navy in 1896. From an immigrant family (in the late 1700s) that has a history of dedicated service to the Republic and a certain administrative persistence and political good-fortune. Ulrika is indebted to many of the major families of the Republic and is known for her loyalty to her paymasters/sponsors.[1]
