Maeghen is a rich, pre-agricultural world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in size.
- The world's agricultural industry is growing and some economists forecast an explosion in this world's agribusiness in the near future as new agro-technology and a more capable labor force are imported.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Shinkan Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
Description (Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
The IISS maintains a station here, to study Maeghen's unusually complex native plant and animal life. Based on the fossil record, over 75 percent of the species on the planet have been present for over a billion years without a major extinction event.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Maeghen is an aloof society, a throwback to the Long Night when fending for oneself was necessary. Generally speaking, life is good on Maeghen, and the Maeghenians are happily self-sufficient.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Maeghen, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate and fiefdoms of three members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial baronet.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial viscount.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Maeghen has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- This world does have a utilitarian highport (C-class) which welcomes visitors. By contrast, the downport scarcely rates Class-E. The scout base on the planet has its own Class-B starport, complete with a small-craft manufacturing centre and refined fuel. The base is not accessible to the public, though detached duty scouts may use it upon request.
