How successful the Ministry of Commerce is at policing Imperial corporations is the subject of debate, even when it comes to the smaller ones, and once a company grows beyond a certain size, the resources it can use to skirt the law exceeds those that the Ministry can call upon to enforce it.

Since the ministry has the right to revoke a company's Imperial Charter, it is widely believed this is one of the means by which the Imperium can control the corporations.
