Now that we've found out how to make hidden bits of text (I use 'we' very loosely, of course ;-), is it really necessary to have separate pages for secrets? Rancke 14:33, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Incidentally, this isn't really a secret, now that I think about it, just stuff that wouldn't appear in a formal library data article (Or so it seems to me). Perhaps I should have chosen a different label. Unofficial information? Common knowledge? Anyone have any opinions and/or ideas about that? Rancke 14:33, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

The "Secret" pages came out of the "Referee only" information published in the Imperial Encyclopedia (and GT Core book). We wanted a place to "hide" information that wasn't common player knowledge. And, as you surmised, the policy was created before we had the hide template. My opinion is, if it's secret enough to hide, it should go into the secret page. If its not a secret, we shouldn't hide it. Tjoneslo 15:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I can appreciate that, but there's also the policy of making the articles as much like library data as possible. In this case, I felt (perhaps wrongly) that ordinary library data wouldn't include the information that the Ministry of Commerce was perhaps not as effective as it ought to be, nor that companies above a certain size could skirt the edge of the law with impunity. It's certainly not a real secret, like the true nature of Imperiallines or the existence of functioning Psionic institutes under the aegis of the Imperium. Rather, it's something that most people know perfectly well, only they don't say it out loud in the hearing of megacorporate managers. Rancke 15:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

This is one of those gray areas where discussing the effectiveness of the MinCom at policing corporations could either be in the main article (Does the Imperium allow the official Imperial Encyclopedia allow entries that are critical of it?), on the secrets page (As GM plot hook information), or on the talk page? I don't have a good answer to that. If you decide to move it back, I'll leave it there. Tjoneslo 16:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

And if I move it back, I won't label it secret. Anyone have a good idea for a term? Or should I just integrate it into the article? Opinions? Rancke 16:13, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
