Laeris is a vacuum world, with a complete lack of atmosphere. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Gadde Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Laeris, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Saark.

Astrography and planetology

Laeris is a member of the Pukh-Shea cluster. The naval base hosts elements of the 219th Fleet.

History and background

An Imperial naval base is all that keeps this small lifeless ball of rock from abandonment. Laeris forms one of half-a-dozen bases within the Pukh-Shea cluster, and the Uumirsa Trail to rimward. The small community serves the naval personnel and the starport (which is subsidized by the Navy).
